Last Thursday Muscat was "blessed" with heavy rains that started at around 5 pm and ended at 10 pm. To say it caused chaos and floods would be an understatement. As beautiful as Muscat the city is, it didnt look very pretty filled with mud and water puddles everywhere. You'd think after 35 years, the municipality would by now have figured a way to get the water away from main roads. All it was was just a bit of rain - heavy rains but it was just water, not hurricanes or thunderstorms or snow or even snow blizzards. Can you imagine what would happen if we had weather like that??
The thing about Wadis is that they dont change course and dont stay overflowed for long, there has to be a way to prevent this. A life could have been spared, a man's body was found near Sultan Qaboos University after being washed away by the waters of Wadi Jifnain. (Link)

These are pictures my friend took of CCC, Qurm - you can see McDonalds and the parking lot completely flooded.
